Hail to the King

Avenged Sevenfold

This is the latest album by the band, and I'd have to say that it is my second favorite album by the band. My first being their previous album, Nightmare.

In this album, they have a tribute song to their fallen member, Jimmy, to symbol that it's okay that he has passed and that they have forgiven him. It was a truly beautiful thing to do of the band. It shows that they have moved on, but know their true roots and core to the band. However, tribute or melodic songs placed within their albums is not uncommon of the band. In fact, it's actually a better listening experience that they do it this way.

Other than that, I really loved the new drummer Arin. I'm not saying that I prefer him over Jimmy. I'm saying he's a really great addition to the band. Hearing another's talents for the first time is really great, and this album really showed his talent. The technique Arin brings to Avenge Sevenfold's music is solid, and it works well for this particular album. I anticipate hearing new stuff from the band with him in addition to the band.

Including that, the band continued to produce solid vocals, lyrics, and instrumentals. I'd definitely go and give this album a listen if you haven't heard it yet.
